About me

Welcome to my cooking blog – for people who love food and cooking and for those who are keen to learn how to cook nutritious tasty meals easily and economically. I owe my gratitude for love of food to my dear mum who passed away recently at 93 years of age after a lifetime of cooking meals for the whole family and friends.

I have been cooking for over 30 years being a married housewife and mum ofcourse during that time. Cooking for the family always involved an element of cooking for health, where foods were chosen specifically to aid your health, whether it was a particular vegetable, herbs, or method of cooking. So that has been ingrained in me over years, as a result of me daily planning nutritious food. There are many types of simple and cheap food which can be nutritious and tasty as well.

Cooking has always been a part of our family, as we talk about food whenever we meet cousins and aunts and uncles and relatives at a party or visiting.  ‘How do you cook this or that?’ is always the chief topic of conversation. Most older housewives take a delight in describing how they cook some dishes. I have learnt with experience that the most simple, quick and nutritious meals can be prepared from having a well stocked pantry. I have become innovative when faced with what to cook with whatever I have in the pantry and believe me it is fun and always turn out delicious. I have always loved the kitchen, the whole set up – from the pantry, the stove, the fridge, ingredients, using kitchen appliances, shopping at the market, decorating meals, and hearing the rewards of your labour from family and friends. You can guess my favorite store is the Kitchen place, or the kitchen section of any department store!

Cooking and preparing food can be enjoyable and fun, if you appreciate the goodness of food. With a bit of planning and creativity, you can prepare very simple meals quickly for the whole family to enjoy.

In this blog you will find recipes of food I personally enjoy cooking, sharing with family and friends. They have been tried and tested.

I hope you enjoy this blog and I welcome chatting with you at any time online.
